Montmartre Cemetery

Montmartre Cemetery (Cimetière de Montmartre) is a cemetery in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, officially known as the Cimitière du Nord, it is the third largest necropolis in Paris, after the Père Lachaise cemetery and the Montparnasse cemetery. Opened on January 1st, 1825 it is today a popular touristic attraction , final resting place of many notables. Worth a visit for the special atmosphere and the crowded, mostly abandoned chapels with beautiful stained glass chapel windows. Home to many nice cats.
